This is the Grand Tasting Event of the NM Cocktails & Culture Culinary Festival! The chef-and-bartender team from each participating restaurant works together to create food-and-cocktail pairings. Restaurants are paired with one of the festival’s celebrated liquor brands.

  • Guests choose “People’s Choice” and a panel of esteemed culinary experts chooses “Judge’s Pick.”
  • Each winning team has a $250 donation made on their behalf.
  • People’s Choice goes to Santa Fe Youth Shelters and Family Services, and Judges Pick goes to Cooking With Kids.
  • 20% of ticket sales is also split between those two organizations.
  • A live auction raises money for the Helen David Relief Fund benefitting bartenders facing breast cancer.

Past Chef & Shaker Challenge winners include: MAS at Hotel Andaluz, Artichoke Cafe, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, Terra at Four Seasons.

The Chef & Shaker Challenge has raised over $10,000 in charitable donations in its previous three years. A portion of ticket sales plus each winning chef’s $250 prize money is donated to Cooking With Kids and Santa Fe Youth Shelters & Family Services on behalf of their restaurants. A live auction, hosted by Tony Abou-Ganim raises money for the Helen David Relief Fund.
